Meet the Doctors

Dr. David Alemar, the oldest of three children, was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico and received his degree in Dentistry. He has completed graduate education in orthodontics, as well as a variety of continuing education courses. He is a certified provider of Invisalign technology and Zoom whitening.

In 2016, The Dawson Academy presented Dr. Alemar with “The Concept of Complete Dentistry Award”. Dr. Alemar holds professional memberships with The United States Dental Institute, The Academy of General Dentistry, and the Augusta Dental Society.

After practicing for several years in Puerto Rico, then the Atlanta Metro area, an opportunity to open his own practice brought him to the Augusta area. Over sixteen years ago, Dr. Alemar purchased the retiring Dr. Hill’s practice, whose patients continue to receive first-rate treatment. In January 2018, Dr. Alemar opened a new office just off Furys Ferry road, where his patients receive excellent care in a comfortable modern facility.

Dr. Alemar is dedicated to providing excellent dental care to families in the CSRA with a strong emphasis in two areas: providing the highest quality in care, while giving careful attention to the comfort of his patients.

Dr. Alemar provides his patients with financial flexibility by filing claims with several dental insurances, which allows them to utilize their dental insurance benefits to the fullest, while reducing their out-of-pocket expenses. He, in a further effort to assist patients with the financial aspect of their treatments, also accepts Care Credit.

Dr. Avila was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Avila and Dr. Alemar went together through Dental School at the University of Puerto Rico, where both received their degree in Dentistry. Dr. Avila has completed graduate education in Orthodontics, including Invisalign, achieving the Invisalign Preferred Provider tier in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Dr. Avila has been working as a general dentist in San Juan, Puerto Rico for over 18 years, providing dental care to her patients using the latest techniques in Dentistry, focusing on Prevention and Oral Rehabilitation. She also gave lectures as a guest speaker at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Dental Medicine, from 2012 to 2017, and offered presentations about oral health to pre-schoolers and patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Having the same philosophy of dental care as Dr. Alemar, Dr. Avila is commited to taking care of the dental health of patients in the CSRA.
